Powerwall is a home battery that charges using electricity generated from solar panels, or when utility rates are low, and powers your home in the evening.

Current generation home batteries are bulky, expensive to install and expensive to maintain. In contrast, Powerwall's lithium ion battery inherits Tesla's proven automotive battery technology to power your home safely and economically. Completely automated, it installs easily and requires no maintenance.
A typical Powerwall system includes solar panels, an inverter for converting electricity between direct current and alternating current, a meter for measuring battery charge.
When your solar panels are generating electricity that you are not using the battery will charge. This free electricity is then available to use when your solar panels are not generating.

Within 2 1/2 months our required monthly direct debit for electricity to Scottish Power fell from £130 per month to £73 per month. I just gave today's metre reading to them and our monthly did payment will now be £66 going forward. That is for a property with 11 bedrooms ( 7 in the main house which is let out and 4 in the cottage annexed which only we use). On change over day's we have 3 washing machines and 3 tumbler driers going flat out.
It is clear that the impact of Tesla Powerwall is already amazing. Judging by the effect over 4 months it is looking likely that our monthly direct debit will fall to as low as £25 per month.
